Tirol-ific!
Patrick and I just got back from an amazing week in Austria. When we booked the trip it was mainly because it was such a good deal and also because we fancied a quiet week away from home, work, serach for work etc. In the end we had a very action packed week with lots of walking, cycling, and sightseeing. It turned out to be a lovely week weather-wise and we met some lovely people too. We went to a small village called Schwendau which is in the Zillertal valley (pictured above). At first we were just blown away by the stunning scenery and we sat on the balcony of our hotel room just saying "wow!" every now and then but we decided to book up for a few excursions and the days flew by. I had a very busy May with interviews and some therapy jobs coming through at last so it was good to get away and do something different.
I got offered the Shift Supervisor job at Starbucks but decided to turn it down in the end. The shift pattern was a joke and one way or another it just wouldn't have fitted in with me trying to develop the business. I hope I made the right decision - in fact I know I did, I just need to get something more suitable lined up. I had my criminal record check chat with the college here in Belfast on Wednesday and they wrote to me the following day to confirm that all is well with it and so now I just have to wait for some classes to filter through from them.
My mom continues to heal but very slowly - she is without arthritis pain at least but I know she is hoping that she will get the full use of the knee and soon. I think I'll fly over to see her in the next week or so to see how she is getting on.
So that's me for now - how have you been?

I'm glad things are going well for you. The holiday photos are great, very impressive place, the scenery is just as I imagined Austria to be.Sorry your mum is'nt better yet, what is the problem ? Every body I know who has had the same op. recovered very well, maybe time is needed to full recovery. Hope that now you are back in " work mode " you find something suitable soon. Marie
@MSB - I think she's just having problems healing - she's not been in the best of health recently and I thin k it's just going to take her longer than some. I am sure she will get there in the end though!
The pictures are grand. I requested your friendship on facebook too, if that is ok. Your profile pic there is great! What a terrific getaway. A place to catch to catch your breath and have it taken away by the scenery! Fantastic!!! Glad your mum is on the mend. Mine is stable. Crabby and stable. I guess I can't ask for more than that...
@queenie - I don't think I've seen your request on Facebook. If I have refused it for some reason please send it again and make sure I know it's you!
